POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN YEAST BIOFUEL TRANSCRIPT PROFILING
The new Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking talented applicants for a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH position in yeast biofuel production. The research will investigate genomic expression patterns in yeast strains grown on different carbon sources and on different feedstock material to identify metabolic bottlenecks in ethanol production. Duties will include constructing DNA microarrays, conducting transcript-profiling experiments, analyzing resulting datasets, and performing general yeast molecular biology experiments.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in research to meet the first great national challenge of the 21st century - sustainable energy independence. Work with a team of internationally recognized yeast researchers at UW-Madison (including Elizabeth Craig, Warren Heideman, Tom Jeffries, and Audrey Gasch) to study yeast stress responses and metabolism of ethanologenic yeast strains.
Candidates with prior experience in yeast physiology, microbial metabolism, and/or genomic expression analysis are invited to apply. Send application material (including statement of interest, curriculum vitae, and names and contacts of 3 references) to: postdoc@glbrc.wisc.edu *** Please reference position # PD3.3.3-1 in application ***
