KBS GLBRC Research Coordinator

The W.K. Kellogg Biological Station’s GLBRC Program is seeking an experienced research coordinator to be responsible for the management of the KBS GLBRC baseline laboratory and coordination of sampling and analysis activities. Responsibilities associated with this position include conducting and supervising plant, soil, water and gas field sampling; coordinating field research activity; conducting and supervising laboratory analyses of field samples; laboratory data management; and general upkeep of field and laboratory equipment. A major part of this position is supervising and evaluating seasonal and full-time research assistants.

Qualifications required are a BS in Agronomy, Ecology, Forestry, or a related area of environmental or natural resource science; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in standard laboratory procedures and safety requirements and performing analytical and research techniques in an active field research laboratory; demonstrated ability to supervise field and laboratory personnel; proficient in utilizing MS Office software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary commensurate with experience; expected range begins at $36,190 per year.

The Kellogg Biological Station is located 10 miles northeast of Kalamazoo, Michigan, midway between Detroit and Chicago and about 1.5 hours southwest of the main MSU campus in East Lansing.
